Students began with a draw/write activity around a chosen body part, out of which they produced 10 “I Remember” sentences. They shared in pairs, and chose the sentence they liked best of each other’s work. Each student then transcribed that sentence on the whiteboard to produce the collective memoir. Rather beautifully it self-structured perfectly, reaching a climax with the sentence “I remember when I wasn’t stressed” and ending with the fade out of the day.
